A young Karen boy plays outside his house, watched by his mother, in the Lep Per Her camp.
After the previous camp was burnt down by the Burmese military in 2002, the occupants were forced to live on the banks of the Moei river, being restricted in crossing into Thailand by the Thai military.
Even so, the teachers insisted that the children continue with their schoolwork and still held school every day. "We do our best and sacrifice all that we can because we have a vision for all these children to become educated people" (volunteer teacher for IDP children).
