Newlyn Fishing-50.jpg

Restoring the lugger 'Ripple'.

David Need, master carpenter and part of the team restoring the 'Ripple' in Newlyn, the largest of only three surviving fishing luggers.

These boats with their distinctive design were once familiar to West Cornwall when they used to land their catches of pilchards, mackerel and sardines at Newlyn around the end of the c.19th.
